I could believe it. OF COURSE he's into the theories of Game and talking about being an Alpha:

Jesus. To be fair, just about everything from that time period ages poorly, but... yeah.

Is he born again or something? I find it amusing to believe he was bumming around the industrial scene making club techno in 1992 with his... current mindset. Then again, I guess he IS a libertarian, and any given kind of whacky self contradicting hijinx can be expected whenever.

Christian theology and atheism

Beale is a Christian who has publicly expressed skepticism about God's omniscience. In The Irrational Atheist, he wrote "it is important to note that the Christian God... makes no broad claims to omniscience." He coined the term "omniderigence", which describes the doctrine of Calvinists and others who believe that God is responsible for acts of evil as divine puppet mastery. In The Irrational Atheist he postulates a Game Designer God that is loosely based on the simulation hypothesis of Nick Bostrom as a potential answer to the theological problem of evil and also claims to refute the Euthyphro Dilemma. He describes the New Atheists as being "irrational" and "clowns of reason"[20] and blames their non-belief in the existence of God on a "social autism" which he believes is the result of a mild form of Asperger's Syndrome.

One time this kid from church had me play that game with him. The only games/movies/books his parents allowed were of the "educational Christian" variety, so he didn't realize how shitty it was. It wasn't "educational" at all except maybe as a lesson in how not to design a game.

Jesus Christ, look at Drew Carey.

The Machinist came out before Batman Begins.

Drew Carey looks like George Burns now or something. Jason Alexander doesn't really even look like he lost weight, maybe they meant to put Wayne Knight there instead and got the wrong fat guy.

They started filming Batman Begins something like 6 months after he made The Machinist, which everyone considered proof that he was on TEHROIDS.

I wish there was a website devoted to snapshots of baseball game fans almost getting hit by balls and bats.

Ya. The astonishing thing isn't that he loses weight so quickly, it's that he can pile it back on again, in almost pure muscle, in just a couple of months. He was back to scrawny as hell in Rescue Dawn, then chucked it all back on again - though I guess he could ramp up for longer for Teh Derk Nite because he had 3:10 to Yuma and whatever else in between.

Pretty extraordinary, but I can't help feeling all this upping and downing can't be good for the body, long term.

It's not. Then again, it's Christian Bale, so who gives a shit?

Also, Millennium Falcon Keanu produced tears over here.
